  2. In Bombay, one can only drink if one has a permit which states that you need to consume ‘foreign liquor and country liquor on grounds of health’. The relevant law, more strictly enforced since 2012, was framed a long time ago when it was believed that an alcoholic might die unless he received a minimum amount of liqour.

    The business card pictured above complies with the law while wringing a certain amount of wry humor out of its inherent absurdity.
    In Canada, however, a scheme which gives free wine to severe alcoholics has proved successful in tackling the underlying problem.
