It looks like these two old bedfellows are still close. In an embarrassingly heavy-handed attempt to sell the government’s new economic reforms, dialogue like this has made it into a recent popular telenovela (apologies to non-Spanish speakers):
The novela in question is called Corazon Indomable and it airs every weekday on Univision. I am actually in favor of this type of reform, but this mixing of government and “entertainment” is both clumsy and cringe-worthy. Is anyone actually convinced by this stilted (and presumably out of place) dialogue?
